There are also re-directors that can weakly detect power roles. They can work in several ways: They choose two targets A and B. If A uses their power, it gets used on B instead. (The most gastardly, and probably rarest type since it really screws with people). They choose two targets A and B. If A is targeted by anyone, the effects go to B. (More typical). They deflect powers from themselves. They pick a target A, and all players who target them target A instead. There's also the 'guardian angel'/bodyguard types who choose a target A and draw powers (usually only attacks, though) to themselves instead of A. Typically only the ones that work on self would be the kind to get any read on whether their power was used.
Don't get too worked up over it, though. Watchers/trackers don't always pick well and their claims can be difficult to unravel for the town, especially in a gastard game. Just wanted to point out that some crazy things may happen in the night that even we'll be at a loss to explain.
