So......Meeko
He's apparently Deadeye Dick. That we know for sure (I think...)
Presumably the role comes from the Kurt Vonnegut novel, but I don't recall the role in any game. Does anyone else? I really wish our Wiki was still around...
The character in the novel accidentally shoots a pregnant woman, killing her and her unborn child. Possibly a Vig of some sort?

Sorry, Deadeye Dick comes from Pirates. (Actually Dick Deadeye there) I sort of might have suggested it, as I mentioned Ben Gunn and Dick and said I liked roles that are separate from scum but aligned with them.
Dick, in that game, had to NK three people in order to 'impress the scum' and join them. There were probably other conditions as well. One was that he had a 50% chance to kill, and I think if he vigged a pirate he lost his chance.
I'm pretty sure the roles are not what they were exactly, but then again they might be.
Nice catch on the merc blocking. It would be really odd for guiri to be lying, since the actual bidder would be in the same situation, unless it was Pleo. My guess is that the merc can act independently. Especially since I'm the biggest anti-Merc voice there is so far.
Speaking of which, potential Merc bg checks: Peeker - I suspect he may have a wincon requiring him to get killed multiple times. He's actually trying to get lynched. Sticks - Maybe, maybe not. Probably 3rd Party, but probably not Hostile is my guess. Story - I strongly suspect him of being 3P. Hostile or non-Hostile is hard to tell. I'm actually comfortable with doing a Designation check on him, since I think he'd claim at some point to try and work with the Town.
Or we just pick someone we don't know about yet.

I can't believe Peeks is asking to be killed, heh. For a full merc investigation I say in no particular order: BillMc, storyteller####, cookies, peeks.

Yeah, someone like BillMc or Cookies might be worth poking at. Also colby11, Rich Beckman, or someone who's not even on anyone's radar yet.
As for peeks, I strongly suspect his role is unkillable and needs to be either killed three times or both lynched and killed to win. Leave him alone and he loses. Probably not worth a full investigation.

I asked Pollux:
"Suppose that I bid on the Mercenary's services one Night, and I win. That earns me the right to use the Mercenary's services the following Night. What happens if I am killed during the intervening Day (by lynch, or by other means)? Can I put in an order for the Mercenary at some point during the Day, and have him carry it out for me even after I'm dead?"
His oh-so-helpful reply was
"I cannot answer that. [bouncing bunny]"
I'm beginning to think the Mod doesn't necessarily have our best interests at heart...

How do we go about "recruiting" someone, you can't just send them a message saying want to be recruited?
So odd!

Recruiting would be done as silverjan's alternate Action. Unfortunately, I think the curse means she won't be visiting us today ... I'm hoping nothing worse comes out of it. Don't want to anger the Creepy Doll. IIRC, more on the the doll - the Gastard game had a whole bunch of 'objects' that were left on doorsteps, food items, etc. that could occasionally had some sort of effect but mostly were just adding to the confusion. I think the player who left them didn't even know all of what they could do.
It's possible something related to the curse has some random effect to call forth objects like that. We'll have to see.

I'm here, I was told that I don't know what the creepy doll does. Try poking it with a stick... Am I the only one who thinks that JustBeingGinger is Town? Her powers make no sense as a Third Party. Of course, they do make sense for Scum, and the Town doesn't know that she's not Scum... ...or do they make sense for Scum after all? I can see why Scum wold want to pardon another Scum, but why would they need to do it this way? If it were a Scum role, why not just make it a 'Pardoner'? I think the role as it's written only makes sense as a Town role. Of course, it's possible that Ginger did a wholesale rewrite of the role, but our good friend Occam would tell us that it's most likely that she was confused and in a hurry and made a stupid edit to her Town PM. I almost posted this in the main thread, but then I thought that people might agree with me and unvote her, and I'm kinda OK with her being lynched, especially if she is really Town

I actually think it's about even between her being Town, or doing a full rewrite.
The only downside of all these Town-aligned deaths is if RedSkeezix is giving accurate numbers. We may want to remove him.

I kind of suspect colby is the Merc.

I don't want to fight the JBG lynch either. And if she is Town, it's actually a pretty good outcome for them. They get a confirmed Townie (nothing says she can't save herself as I read her PM) out of it. The upside for us is that she's vanilla at that point, so we don't have to kill her right away.
