Hooray! ...oh wait.
At Dusk, Silver Jan feels a strange sense of foreboding wash over her. Something doesn't exactly feel right, and after she smacks her head on a doorway three times in a row, she realizes something's wrong.
Silver Jan has been cursed.
Have fun!

I don't know whether to be cheered or scared by what just happened.

I actually was around for EOD but didn't see a reason to put anything in the thread. Instead I came up with this (apologies to el Jefe) :
The all-stars had a homecoming On Idle's board last night And the Magic Bag drove the voting Over the mod's thin line
Doctor guiri sitting on the cusp of a lynch drinking wine in front of me Pleonast pulls into town, makes up a claim Together they take a stab at a vote and disappear down in Flames
Well, the Maximum Vig runs down the street Chasing the Merc and the hostiles too And the scum down here look just like lurkers Always quiet, holding hands
From the Doctors to the Jailers ToNight all is silence in the world As we make our plans Down in Jungleland
The midnight scum's assembled And picked a kill target for the night They'll meet on the secret message board That keeps their posts out of sight
Man, there's an opera out on the main board There's a ballet being fought out in the thread Until the local mod's hand of god Rips this holy night
The thread's alive as secret messages are sent Contacts made, they PM unseen Kids flash their bids just like switchblades Hustling for the mercenary
The hostiles and the hunted Explode into vote-crazy bands That face off against each other out in the thread Down in Jungleland
In the arguing upthread Pleonast's own claim guns him down The boards echo with discussion in the Night No one watches when the wagon pulls away Or as peeker pops back to life
The thread's on fire in a real death waltz Between what's fact and what's fantasy And the scum down here don't write nothin' at all They just stand back and let it all be
And in the quick of the night, they reach for their moment And try to make a dishonest plan But they wind up blocked, not even dead Tonight in Jungleland

I don't want to be cursed I think it's a good end, the doc and the investigator, cheered me up. Now, what should I say about this curse or do I leave it until tomorrow? The person that cursed me will know I was cursed. Shouldn't I have got that in a PM?

On an even more sobering note: guiri was apparently cursed on Night 1 (he said he received his PM at Dawn), and wound up dead (for the moment, anyway) at the end of the Day. I wonder if we need to worry about Jan's survival past Tonight?

Jan, I think you should definitely announce that you were cursed. Again, it's the pro-Town thing to do.

I wonder about the method of delivery as well...why didn't you get the info in a PM? Like I posted all the results of Night One here, I delivered the information here since all of you would likely share it anyway and it's more convenient. If you'd like me to send it in a PM as well I can.

If you'd like me to send it in a PM as well I can. Probably not necessary, though I guess that's Jan's call. As long as we know that the method of delivery isn't significant, it's not a big deal. Unless someone wants Jan to post her PM including header information, etc., in order to 'prove' that it's legitimate...but hopefully we won't go down that road again...

Red Skeezix needs to die before he gets any information that's really useful.
Unfortunately, he's a great target for a Watcher, and I don't know that we want to blow our single untrackable kill just yet.

If we believe Red Skeezix (and I see no reason not to at this point) the game started with 7 Town and 5 Scum, leaving exactly 17 Third Party.
Jan's recruitment targets cannot include "Anyone with their own agenda or already Town". And we know that "there are three possible targets for Scum recruitment".
I originally read the first quote as meaning that Jan can only recruit Nonhostile Third Parties, but that would imply that there are 14 Hostile Third Party players. That seems a bit excessive, doesn't it?

There are a number of things that we actually don't know:
ATPG claimed a 'two-night' investigation ability. Prime target for a block. Red Skeezix could be worth blocking.
Outright blocking of power roles is more obviously a scum move, so it's not helpful to us for a later claim. But it might be better just to do a scummy block and figure out claims when it comes to it.
On Investigation: There might be as few as 7 town-aligned roles. That means designation could be useful to investigate. My question to you guys is how we should use our investigations.
Should our primary aim be -
A) Look for a recruitment target? B) Look for possible hostile third parties? C) Look for town power roles? D) Something else?

Ignore the colon on the first sentence. There was meant to be more comments there, but I lost that train of thought now. I may examine the thread for details & claims.

It could be that Red Skeezix' ability is active, and that he has to ask for results on a particular faction, or it could be passive, and he simply receives the results at Dusk. So it may be pointless to block him.
Come to think of it, it looks like he received his information at Dusk, so even if it's an active power, it's a Day ability, so a Night block would be a waste.
I think.

Do you think that with all of these Third Party players, we might have another Faction out there, rather than 17 Independents?
